Also referred to as reading or computer lenses, Nikons Online
lenses provide the kind of maximum close-range vision previously unthinkable.
By extending your field of vision laterally and towards the front, Nikon Online clarifies the focus of intermediate elements (up to 3 meters) such as a computer screen or person sitting across you. This means that head and neck movements are minimized, eliminating eyestrain and helping to alleviate postural fatigue.
Online is recommended for people with presbyopia who wear contact lenses to correct far vision as well as those who have been operated on for cataracts. It can also be the perfect complement to progressive lenses, when your near vision just isnt enough.
Reliance on spectacles to give accurate and comfortable vision at all distances generally increases with age. Conventional progressive lenses, those of Nikon quality, will allow accurate, vision in all visual zones.
Wearing spectacles is, though, more than just about clear vision. Long time use of intermediate and near vision requires concentrated progressive lenses able to give wide vision in these areas and minimize the head and neck movement common with less concentrated lenses.
Single vision lenses do not give any flexibility on viewing objects further away (up to 3 meters for Online) and progressive lenses are not concentrated enough to give the width of vision required for comfortable vision.
Today, the demands on our eyesight are greater than ever. For professionals, from hair stylists to programmers, used to spending long hours in close observation, Nikon Onlines effortless transition from close to middle-range distance is a tremendous asset.
Nikon onLine is for anyone whose hobbies
or pastimes require close attention to detail.
Online extends vision over bifocals and standard progressives for work-related tasks
Online is the new generation of reading lenses, where the power gradually decreases from the bottom portion of the lens (near zone) towards the upper portion of the lens (intermediate zone).
Bifocals offer a wide field of vision, but they are strictly limited to a single reading plane. Online extends the
width and depth of the field of vision, making it possible to see objects beyond the near zone, such as computer screens. The focal power variation enables true intermediate vision.
