Flatbush Optical
The Flatbush Optical Difference!
Our company motto is helping everyone to meet their visual needs.

At Flatbush Optical, we are dedicated to providing each of our customers the opportunity to have 20/20 vision. We believe that everyone should have the right to enjoy 100% clear vision!

A top priority of ours is to invest in the latest eye care technology in order to make sure our customers have the ability to have better vision.

Our offices include the latest visual field by Zeiss, A visual field test is an examination that may be performed to analyze a patient's visual field. The exam may be performed by a technician in one of several ways. The test may be performed by a technician directly, with the assistance of a machine, or completely by an automated machine. Machine based tests aid diagnostics by allowing a detailed printout of the patient's visual field.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
OCT delivers high resolution because it is based on light, rather than sound or radio frequency. An optical beam is directed at the tissue, and a small portion of this light that reflects from sub-surface features is collected. Note that most light is not reflected but, rather, scatters. The scattered light has lost its original direction and does not contribute to forming an image but rather contributes to glare.

The glare of scattered light causes optically scattering materials (e.g., biological tissue, candle wax, or certain plastics) to appear opaque or translucent even while they do not strongly absorb light (as can be ascertained through a simple experiment -e.g., shining a red laser pointer through one's finger).

Using the OCT technique, scattered light can be filtered out, completely removing the glare. Even the very tiny proportion of reflected light that is not scattered can then be detected and used to form the image in, e.g., a scanning OCT system employing a microscope.

We also have the latest automated refractors is a computer-controlled machine used during an eye examination to provide an objective measurement of a person's refractive error and prescription for glasses or contact lenses. This is achieved by measuring how light is changed as it enters a person's eye.

We believe in fast and efficient service. A majority of our customers enjoy receiving their prescription eyewear within 1 hour, and contact lens wearers are usually notified for pick up the next day after their visit. The reason we are able to provide this fast service is because of our long time relationship with the industry’s biggest manufactures. We are very proud to announce our acquisition of the Mr. Blue Lens Edging System in 2010. This system allows us to process very complex glasses at a much faster rate, achieving very accurate prescriptions.

We would like our customers to be able to choose correct eyewear; we have the most luxurious brands. We can also make our customers happy by providing them with modern and inexpensive glasses.
